Neven Maguire's series hits new record

The opening episode of the new series of Neven Maguire: Home Chef on Wednesday February 6 on RTÉ One received a record audience for a cookery programme.

The opening episode of the new series of Neven Maguire: Home Chef on Wednesday February 6 on RTÉ One received a record audience for a cookery programme.

The first episode of the new series had a 34.57% share, or 480,000 viewers including VOSDAL (Viewing On Same Day As Live).

The new series, described as being "for confident cooks who want to take their cooking to the next level", sees Maguire explaining complex dishes and techniques in his own down-to-earth style.

Each week, he also enjoys a masterclass from other top chefs at restaurants including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London (3 Michelin stars), Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud (2 Michelin stars), L'Ecrivain (1 Michelin star) and Chapter One (1 Michelin star) in Dublin, Lea Linster Restaurant in Luxembourg (1 Michelin star), Waterford Castle (two AA Rosette Awards) and Restaurant 41 (Restaurant of the Year 2012).
