Week five of the 'blind' auditions on The Voice of Ireland on RTÉ One on Sunday night saw a cat fight between coaches as they battled to get a singer on their teams.

Alexandra Miller, who is originally from Nice, sang Adele's Skyfall and her performance had all four coaches turn their chairs.

Ructions followed, with Jamelia offending Sharon Corr by saying that she (Jamelia) was the only solo artist on the panel.

Singer Miller eventually chose Jamelia as her coach, with Jamelia also adding Jennifer Moore from Dungarvan in Co Waterford and Sophie Rishcar from Dublin to her team.

Also on Sunday's show, Galway's John Gaughan chose Sharon as his coach, with Dean Anthony her second recruit of the night.

Philip Kennedy and Derek Power both joined Kian Egan's team.

Velvin Lamont, who came to Ireland from the US with his Irish wife last year, chose Bressie as his mentor.
