Susanna Reid has topped a new poll to find the most popular presenter in BBC Breakfast history, taking more votes than the rest of the Top 10 combined.

Susanna Reid has topped a new poll to find the most popular presenter in BBC Breakfast history, taking more votes than the rest of the Top 10 combined.

The poll by radiotimes.com is to mark the show's 30th anniversary, with Reid receiving 52% of the vote.

Sian Williams was in second place with 12%, with Bill Turnbull in third with 8%.

Commenting on her win, Reid said: "I am honoured to have earned the respect and appreciation of Breakfast viewers. I feel lucky even to be on the list of those brilliant presenters who have hosted this programme over the past 30 years."

A former actress, Reid began her journalistic career at BBC Radio Bristol in the 1990s and was a late-night shift reporter on BBC News 24 when she was asked to stand in for a newsreader who had not arrived for their shift. She joined BBC Breakfast in 2004.
