Ballymena-born actor Liam Neeson is set to receive a tribute when he returns to his hometown as pupils from his former school have put together a special video.

The 60-year-old star will return to Antrim this month to be awarded the Freedom of the Borough and local students were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in the festivities.

The youngsters have put together a documentary film about Neeson's childhood, chronicling his time at school and his rise to fame.

Speaking about the documentary, Mayor of Ballymena, Alderman PJ McAvoy, said: "As a St Patrick's College 'old boy' and a longstanding supporter of the arts in our borough, I think Liam will really enjoy the fact we are showcasing young, local talent and creativity. As a movie star, he'll certainly appreciate the hard work and commitment which have gone into this excellent production."

The film will be screened for Neeson at a red carpet event in the town on Monday 28 Jan13.
