Day-Lewis among the Globes winners

Wicklow resident Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor at the Golden Globes on Sunday for his performance in Lincoln, with Les Misérables and Argo among the other big winners on the night.

Wicklow resident Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor at the Golden Globes on Sunday for his performance in Lincoln, with Les Misérables and Argo among the other big winners on the night.

Les Misérables won Best Picture (Comedy or Musical), with stars Hugh Jackman winning Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) and Anne Hathaway winning Best Supporting Actress.

Argo was named Best Picture (Drama), with director and star Ben Affleck winning Best Director.

Jessica Chastain won Best Actress (Drama) for Zero Dark Thirty, while Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) for Silver Linings Playbook.

Christoph Waltz was named Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained, with the film's director, Quentin Tarantino, taking the award for Best Screenplay.

Brave took the award for Best Animated Film, while Amour was named Best Foreign Film.

The award for Best Score went to Mychael Danna for Life of Pi, with Adele and Paul Epworth winning Best Original Song for Skyfall.

The 2013 Golden Globes Red Carpet Special is on RTÉ Two tonight, Monday January 14, at 8:05pm.

The awards ceremony follows on RTÉ Two at 9:00pm.
