The film's honours included the Favourite Movie and Favourite Action Movie awards, along with the Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Face of Heroism gongs for its star Jennifer Lawrence.

Robert Downey Jr was awarded the Favourite Movie Actor gong, while Meryl Streep picked up the Movie Icon award.

Katy Perry was one of the night's other major winners, taking home four awards including Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Pop Artist.

Glee actors Lea Michele and Chris Colfer picked up gongs for Favourite TV Comedic Actress and Actor respectively, while The X Factor USA won Favourite Competition TV Show and Favourite Celebrity Judge for Demi Lovato.

Taylor Swift scooped the Favourite Country Artist award, while Rihanna was awarded the Favourite R&B gong.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower won the Favourite Dramatic Movie award, with the film's star Emma Watson being honoured with the Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress gong.

One Direction took home the gongs for Favourite Song for What Makes You Beautiful and Favourite Album for Up All Night.

Special awards were also presented to Christina Aguilera, who acceped the People's Voice award, and Sandra Bullock, who was honoured for her humanitarian work in New Orleans.
