Irish producer Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly and Irish cinematographer Seamus McGarvey have both received nominations in the 85th Annual Academy Awards.

Cronin O'Reilly has been nominated for her animated short film Head Over Heels.

Made for the National Film and Television School in the UK and written and directed by Timothy Reckart, the 11-minute stop-motion animation follows husband and wife Walter and Madge as they try to rebuild their marriage.

The only thing getting in the way is that Walter lives on the floor and Madge lives on the ceiling.

Also honoured in the Oscars nominations is Armagh native McGarvey, who received a nod for cinematography on the period drama Anna Karenina.
