Former Torchwood star Burn Gorman has landed a recurring role as a villain on American drama Revenge.

Former Torchwood star Burn Gorman has landed a recurring role as a villain on American drama Revenge.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the 38-year-old will appear as Trask, a member of the sinister Americon Initiative.

Gorman is best known for playing Owen Harper in the first two seasons of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood and will next be seen opposite former Doctor David Tennant in BBC Four drama Spies of Warsaw.

His film credits include 2010 comedy Cemetery Junction and superhero blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises. His Revenge stint will mark Gorman's first US television role.

Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh was also recently cast in a recurring role on Revenge, while Barry Sloane (Aiden Mathis) has been promoted to a series regular.

Revenge season two begins tonight (January 8th) on RTÉ Two with a double bill.
