Pamela Anderson has become the first contestant to be voted out of Dancing on Ice in last night's opening episode.

The former Baywatch star came in the bottom two with TV presenter Keith Chegwin after the judges and viewers votes were combined.

The show's judges Jason Gardiner, Karen Barber, Ashley Roberts and Robin Cousins were then left with the decision of who to send home.

All four voted to save Chegwin over Anderson, who had made mistakes and stumbled throughout her routine.

Anderson apologised to her professional skating partner Matt Evers after being eliminated, saying that she believed her nerves and wardrobe failed her, as her dress nearly fell off.

Half of the celebrity contestants performed last night (January 7), with remaining skaters Luke Campbell, Oona King, Lauren Goodger, Joe Pasquale, Gareth Thomas and Anthea Turner taking to the ice for the first time next Sunday.
