Seth MacFarlane is planning to follow-up his feature film directorial debut, Ted with a Western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West.

According to the Hollywood Reporter the Family Guy creator will reunite with his Ted screenwriters, Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

MacFarlane will also star in the film, which is said to be akin to Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles and is described as "a Western with contemporary humour, with one undercurrent being just how dangerous and painful life really was in the late 1800s."

The film is set to be MacFarlane's first time in front of the camera in a non-animated role, although he did host Saturday Night Live recently and is set to host the upcoming 85th Academy Awards.
