Cecelia Ahern cut short her latest book tour as she couldn't bear to be apart too long from her new baby.

Previous tours saw her travelling the globe but for her latest, promoting One Hundred Names, she decided to curtail her travels.

"I just did Ireland and the UK because I've a five-month-old so I wasn't going too far away, just keeping it close," she said.

"It's going really well, it got to number one here and number three in the UK, which is great - not that charts count," she said. "It's just got really good reviews so I'm delighted."

Ahern was at the Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin, where she was promoting Barretstown, the camp for sick children.

The shopping centre is donating €1 to Barretstown for every child who visits Santa in his grotto at the centre.

"Last year I launched the library in Barretstown so I got to go out and see the facilities, the place is incredible," she said.

"It's just so well organised and it's such a great place for kids to be. I think fun is the best therapy."
