After quitting Coronation Street in February to enjoy some time off, Helen Flanagan says she can't wait to rough it in the wild and show millions how different she to Rosie Webster.

Flanagan, who starred in Coronation Street for 12 years, says one of her reasons for taking part in I'm A Celebrity is to show people that she is different to the character she portrayed.

She said: "People don't expect me to be in the jungle and one of my big reasons for doing I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here! is I like to have different options. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket and I like to take things how they come.

"I also always go with my instinct too and when the offer came through, it felt right to do this.

"What's so nice about this show is I can go in as me. It won't be my toughest role yet because I am being me rather than someone else.

"I loved being in Coronation Street and I loved playing Rosie but now I am going in the jungle, I am going to completely throw myself into it.

"People say you make friends for life and so I am really excited about making some new friends in the jungle. It will be good to discover things about myself too - my different strengths and weaknesses."

Laughing, she added she thinks her Coronation Street co-stars will find it amusing she is going in the jungle.

She said: "Everybody at Coronation Street watches I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here! It is always on in the Green Room and I know everyone is going to go 'oh my God, Helen is in the jungle'.

"They won't expect me to do the trials. They know me well. I was on the show from a very young age and they are like a family to me. But it's going to be fun and I can't wait."
