Rafael penetrates a rather porous Everton defence with a well-timed pass and Robin van Persie rounds Tim Howard and slots the ball home. Phil Neville was at fault for playing Van Persie onside. Manchester United 2-0 Everton

Ryan Giggs gets a kind ricochet off the post to score his first league goal of the season for the Red Devils. He’s now netted in each of the last 23 seasons in the league. He may not be getting better with age, but his rate of deterioration is remarkably slow. Manchester United 1-0 Everton
