1. Who did Revenue contact regarding payment of LPT for 2014?
Local Property Tax (LPT) is a tax payable on the market value of residential properties in the State. If you are the liable person for the property on 1 November 2013 you have to pay LPT for 2014. By now you will have received a letter from Revenue if you paid your LPT in 2013 in one lump sum (i.e. by single debit authority, debit/credit card, cheque/postal order/cash) or if you made regular payments by cash. The letter included your Property ID, PIN and confirmed the amount of LPT due for 2014. All you need to do is decide how you want to pay for 2014, fill in the payment instruction on-line or on paper and send it to Revenue.
You can choose to pay in one lump sum or by a phased payment method.
Detailed information on LPT is available on the Revenue website www.revenue.ie. If you have any queries you should call the LPT helpline (1890 200 255) or the Citizens Information Service (0761 07 4000).
